The 'top' form which sits 'over' the laptop case - the cover sits into this to be molded into shape.

The pieces for the first 'trial run' case cover - from the left: the middle layer, the front metal piece, the top layer, the first half of the bottom layer, the back metal piece and the second half of the bottom layer.

The bottom layer goes down first, 'outside' down.

Then the two metal ends.

Then the middle piece, with the grain going the longitudinally rather than laterally to make it stronger.

Then the bottom two pieces, which will be side by side with their cut edges flush so that it's not apparent that they were separate beforehand.

And finally the bottom form to push the whole thing into shape.

Now for the glue! First the top layer is put down and the back metal piece put down with glue.
